Google is a billion page views per day

Goolge is now one billion page views a day that research new image can display up to 1,000 images per page. This is clearly the largest search engine for images the BBC quoted Marissa Mayer, vice president of research, the paper said. The search giant has released the figures, when it announced a major reorganization of its research on the image. Some analysts say the new features are already in use competing search engine Bing. And now over 10 billion files from Google Image Search, which was launched in 2001 to 250 million. "I have been watching image search grow and grow for the last nine years since its launch. This is a tremendous rise and shows how the web overall has gotten richer and richer with all kinds of media," Mayer added.

The report finds that the quantity and variety of images on the web has ball since 2001, and images has become one of the most popular type of content that users are searching. Twitter may soon offer auto translate option

There is news about Twitter preparing an auto-translate option that will, as the name suggests, automatically translate posts into your preferred native language. Last year, Twitter’s Biz Stone made an announcement about Twitter working on languages beyond its native English and Japanese. However, that was restricted to only the website, whereas translations will soon be designed to translate the posts as well.

The results page, which allows a user to filter a tweet by language (from Arabic to Icelandic to Thai), will have a clickable option to translate the tweets to a preferred language.

So, if any of your Dutch speaking friends tries to bully you by writing in their native language, you can easily use the auto translate option to change the tweet into English, Twitter will also feature on option to expand the shorts link to the full URL, without actually being forced to click through. 

Facebook Linked to rise in Syphilis Cases

Facebook is in the limelight yet again, only this time for all the wrong reasons. According to health experts, the popular social networking site has led to resurgence in the sexually transmitted disease 'syphilis'.

A report claims the virus has increased fourfold in those areas of Britain where Facebook is most popular. The reason cited is Facebook has thrown open a new channel for meeting multiple partners for casula sexual encounters.

According to Peter kelly, director of public health in Teesside, Britain, a link has been found between social networking sites and the rise in Syphilis cases, especially among young women. Syphilis is a critical disease and people having unprotected sex with casual partners are at high risk.

A spokesperson  for Facebook said, "Users should take precautions and be careful when meeting up with anyone they have met online."

Microsoft Powers intelligence for IPL

Intelligent computing has finally made its way to India and that, too, with a bang. A good example to cite will be a set of business intelligence tools custom made for the IPL matches that were wrapped up last month. Samsung has introduced two new mobile phones that will let users watch live TV on two CDMA based Corby and Metro models. The all new handsets come with a customised Mimobi TV Mobile TV application that enables watching TV and on demand TV streaming. The Metro TV handset is priced Rs. 9,699.

The Mimobi TV mobile TV application has been jointly developed by Samsung with Apalya techologies. Corby TV handset comes with a 2.8 inch QVGA TFT disply, 2 megapixel camera, stero FM radio and Bluetooth 2.0. Google brings drag & drop attach feature to gmail

Browsing for files to add as attachments to e-mail messages is passe. Now, all you have to do is simply drag and drop them to add them to your mail messages. That's right, Google has added a new file drag and drop feature in Gmail to attach files the easy way. However, currently only Firefox 3.6 and Google chrome users can avail of this feature.

Locating files on your system can often be a painful task and usually, people prefer to save their files and foders on the Destop itslf. With the new drag and drop feature, you can attach as many files as you want  at one go( under 20 MB total size). Select the file from anywhere on your PC or Mac, drag them to the Gmails's 'Attach Files' area and drop them. Almost instantaneously, you will notice a bar showing the attachments status of those files.
