Sanyo PLC-XL50 Review: Shortest Projection Distance

Sanyo PLC-XL50
Sometimes the existence of projector narrows the room. The projector which requiring far enough shoot distance makes room felt congested.

The problems seem to be thought also by Sanyo, electronic company of Japan. Recently they launch a projector which suited for company which does not have big meeting room: Sanyo PLC-XL50.

Sanyo gives it title “World's Shortest Projection Distance”. For your info, to present projection object as wide as 80 inch, this projector only requires shoot distance to screen as far as 8 centimeter.

Mean, this projector can be drawn near until almost patch to screen. Hence, it also guarantees projection result which free of presenter shadow as result of projector lamp spotlights.

If compares to NEC WT610 projector. At 61 cm shoot distance, this projector only can present result of projection as wide as 78 inch.

Sanyo can double the shoot distance with more sophisticated projection technology. NEC WT610 only apply mirror to cut short shoot distance, while Sanyo PLC-XL50 applies combination between lenses and non-sferical mirror, or mirror which do not bounce electromagnetic impulse.

This projector applies LCD XGA machine (resolution 1024 x 768). Brightness level presented by it is reaching 2000 lumens.

As for its contrast ratio reaching 600 : 1. This is including bright for a LCD projector. Color presented from computer screen is sharply enough and still saves detail in video dark part.

What little bothering is noise and posterization effect when presenting skin color. Discoloration happened seen not gradual, but drastic.

Meanwhile, this projector built-in audio system shows result that is surprising enough. It can yield hard enough sound and fulfills a big room.

With the size 20 x 37,3 x 50 cm and weight 7,6 kilograms, this projector of course pertained heavy and big. This makes projector setting is more disturbingly compared to other projectors.

Besides, this projector remote control cannot take over mouse pointer function for merely opening the next presentation page. But, it also equipped some other addition, for example Easy Off Function and On-Start Function, so user can turn off and turn on it swiftly.

Moreover, Color Board Mode feature enables user to use color media so that screen do not always must having white color. For the security, it also provides Audio Alarm feature, which will give warning if there are any thief try to take the projector.

Olympus FE-270 Review: One Button One Function

Olympus FE-270
The simplicity in operation button design makes this camera easy and quickly to operated. So, you can more focusing at moment and photo contents.

What is the requirement of an amateur photographer which wish to feel the experience of making a picture with digital camera? Certainly is a compact digital camera which easy to operated and equipped by facility which assisting to anticipate difficult situation in photo occasion.

Olympus answers the challenges with their newest camera, FE-270. The buttons represents one function only (one button one function) so facilitates user for quickly recognizes and access it. While the automatic photograph configuration (Scene-SCN) assists the user to anticipate specific photo condition with quickly. There are 15 scenes; some between it is a real useful and often to applied like Sport, Night Scene with Portrait, Sunset, and Portrait. Thereby, you will be able to more concentrating at the moment and photo content than get busy at camera various setting. But, don't be disappointed if you didn't find full manual photo mode (M), diaphragm priority (AV), shutter-speed priority (S).

Image stabilizer facility which working digitally, in our test is helps when making a picture of moving object or small object in short distance (macro). This camera provides a real near photograph distance, its reach 5 cm, so that the picture sharpness is hardly required. The lens at this camera has 3x optical zoom, equivalent with focal point 38-114 at SLR camera lens. I assume its enough to photograph requirement from landscape to portrait.

The internal memory capacity which only have 6,9 MB hardly limits the quality and number of photo frames. Hence, add xD type memory card which its slot is on Olympus FE-270 underside. Moreover, photo saving into internal memory always requires longer relative time than if it is kept into addition memory (external).

Video record facility at this camera is not too special, although its video frame measure which 640 X 480 pixel is the same with PAL MPEG2 video standard (720 X 576 pixels). Video play speed used is 15 frame per second. It’s equal to phone camera.

Guide mode at dial button will guide user in step by step when found a difficult photograph condition.

Olympus FE-270 successfully answers the requirement of newbie photographer segment which requiring camera usage easiness and reliable for various photograph conditions. But, in this camera there are no manual setting, thus less suited for you which desire to learn photography serious.

Samsung SGH-F200 Review: Swivel Music Phone

Samsung SGH-F200
The combination between music players and phone is an ordinary thing. In fact, addition feature like this is considered to be a feature which most enthused and easy to applied. But what would happen if music player portion is more dominant compared to phone? The answer is on Samsung SGH-F200.

SGH-F200 is the newest member from Samsung F music series. If seen from the number, this is the most economical solution compared to its brother: F300 and F500. Music player ability of course becomes the main appeal. But whose expects if its design which draw the attention.

F200 is also recognized as swivel phone. Concept like this has been carried by Sony Ericsson S700. But the miracle of F200 is not only centered at its swivel axis. Its camouflage as portable music player successfully closes over its phone impression. All because the detail designs, small size and its supporting display.

The main point, F200 is a candybar phone. But because it axis, we also can call it as swivel phone. Its size is the smallest one if compared to the other phones. Especially in stand by condition (swivel is closed).

In closed swivel condition, we can get a number of navigators for music. In it front side there is D-Pad at the same time functioning as multimedia button. We can access music file, play and full controls it with this button.

In it side part, we can find two function keys that across each other. Each will function like softkey button at phone, as supporting facilities to opening music menu and browsing file. But this button only functioned when phone in standby and music on condition.

As a phone with slide form, hence it screen can be made to fulfills the face area. But because this phone longitudinal section is small, hence it screen is made small. Its diagonal size is 1.46 inches and has 128 x 220 pixel resolution.

F200 interface is also unique. It can be felt when we can only access music from main menu button (open swivel), but you must close the swivel to enjoy it.

Samsung SGH-F200 is phone which camouflage to become a music player. Surely, music feature becomes the main feature.

If it compared to Samsung MP3 player which available in the market, F200 form is much supported. Alike instead! And so with its ability to play a number of music formats.

Music function domination becomes the F200 main menu. It’s acceptable if we call it a phone in camouflage. On the contrary with the addition of network phone and Bluetooth, surely this is not a common portable music player. It’s attractive enough combination.

Sony Bravia KLV-32S200A Review: Not Yet Full HD

Sony Bravia KLV-32S200A
Between the line of Sony LCD TV product which has placed Bravia processor, S series is the earlier class of Bravia for 32-40 inches screen choice. Like known before, the other series with Bravia engine is X, W, V, and D. Sony KLV-32S200A (S200 variant) which we have tested has 2 inches screen which supporting HDTV display and it’s the cheapest modeling in it class.

This 18 kg product locates maximum resolution at 1366 x 768 pixel which mean has not reached Full HD. Like also one type product from Sony, KLV-32S200A also uses Feature Theater Mode which good for balancing the dark area color and keeps the detail. Its sound is also applied SRS TruSurround XT (S-Force) technology so that even only uses stereo mode but its audio output is thus felt surround.

The main strength of this LCD TV lays in Bravia Engine (BE) processor what yields visual display in full color and sharply, for watching movie and also plays at game. Even it panel applied only 8-bit and its contrast ratio only 1300:1 but the image processing from BE makes the display so beautiful with a real smooth color gradation. If seen from the sharpness and brightness, this monitor seen much better from LG 32LB9R which we has tested.

Tries the Sony Bravia KLV-32S200A for watching film, play game, and presentation of course so pleases, seen from its display which felt bright and well-built. This is the typical characteristic of Sony in their every monitor product. Other display facility like choice vivid/standard mode, multi picture, and 3D Comb Filter adds enjoyment for who is looking. But compared to the other competitor, the price possibly felt less competitive.

Motorola RAZR2 V9 Review: HSDPA in Clamshel

Motorola RAZR² V9
Another V3 follower presence and offers the thing that can’t be said new anymore. V9 which is the second edition phone from RAZR2 family returns to offers slim design, HDSPA and better interface. Remind us to Motorola previous products.

V3 is really phenomenal. Slim design which that time has not been thought is applied so get the best phone award during its time. That thing always used till come out the V3xx which carrying HSDPA high-speed internet connection.

Then come up the innovator which called RAZR2 family. This group is famous with more flexible interface. It already planted K-Java OS and also same qualities two displays. V8 was the firstly product.

Then now the new edition in V9, all features which mentioned above tried to offer again. It’s come up without variation and just new product with complete feature.

RAZR2 V9 is supported by great designs. Form factor of RAZR series which usually applied, clamshell, remain to uses. Not only that, material chooses and glossy effect makes it seen more luxuriant.

Both of V9 screen is presented in equal quality. Its purpose is simple: to more facilitates user. Because if both screen made the same, hence you can access some menus without opens flip.

Same with RAZR² series when firstly come out, V9 applies unusual OS, K-Java. It’s a java-linux operating system which has not been supported widely.

Identical with V8, V9 still have the same secondary screen interface. It’s using touch sensitive button which placed in screen underside. If compared to similar button of Samsung or LG, its location in V9 is effective enough. Automatic lock will prevent this button activated accidentally.

HSDPA will enable you to access high-speed internet until 3,2 mbps. So long you residing in the location which covered with this network, you can easily do video streaming without get interfering.

Music player doesn’t forget to add to this beautiful phone. The feature which use is Motorola Digital Audio Player. Its performance doesn’t far different with digital music player applied at previous products.

Motorola RAZR2 V9 brings good enough camera. But if seeing some HSDPA products from other vendor which has accommodated 3.2 megapixel cameras, V9 2 megapixel camera is felt a few left behind.

Not so fresh concept is considered to be the only insufficiency at V9. But as tradition continuous phone, V9 effort is effective enough. What else if not in it design side which is still looks luxuriant and the HSDPA feature addition which so promising.

The price can be said sensible if it is compared to the price of V3 when first time launched. But some problems must be fixed especially at it camera.

LG Pearl Black 32LB9R
If Samsung have the Bordeaux Plus series, hence LG offers Pearl Black that said have the same quality. The newest model from LG is present through LB9 series which available in 32”, 42”, and 47” size. Our laboratory has an opportunity to tries 32LB9R model (32 inches).

This stand also enables the monitor pointed to left and right according to point of view direction. Even so, this 200XD processor monitor display applies In Plan Switching technology which makes picture detail and color seen so clear from every direction. This clearly better if compared to conventional panel which tend seen rough or white if seen from it side.

Cowon D2 Review: Great Design and Performance

Cowon D2
It’s compact, elegant, and less of button. Cowon D2 MP4 player present with white color and silver line which looks so classy and at the same time minimalist. But minimalist impression not means it has minimalist facility. This device which it interface dominated by 2,5” screen carries touch screen like at PDA to operate it. You can use a stylus pen or your finger.

What about its performance? Actually, its sound quality is good enough, but it will better if uses better quality earphone. Especially the absence of internal speaker makes you must use earphone. When playing video, the picture also looks clear and bright. Scene run smooth enough. Unsatisfied with the picture size presented? Just connect the player to TV with A/V cable which unhappily must be bought separately.

As the complement there is also FM radio, voice recorder, picture viewer, and text reader. This gadget has 2 GB memory capacity (available also 4GB) and can be added again with external memory card. It’s potential enough as data storage. It read and writes performance is also fast enough.

As a whole, Cowon D2 gives new experience of MP4 player. Starts from the way of operation which is easy and more stylish, good performance, and also it compact size, makes we so like it. Especially its good battery endurance makes it good to owned as personal gadget.

Unfortunately, we have not found way to adding other sound file for this setting.

Which looks different is the existence of axis so that position of screen part can bended curved to part of keyboard; alike when we apply Dopod U1000. This gadget also applied TouchFlo which is first added in HTC Touch. So we can activate an application with touching an icon.

There are many special shortcut button offered. In device side, there is Voice Commander Button; side by side with menu select wheel and OK button. Below the screen, there is a special button for windows, browser, and message. All the shortcut actually can be changed from start > Settings > Buttons.

SIM card slot is placed at back of front side (screen). Even it’s so easy, not suggested to changes SIM card when device is ON. Meanwhile, in front side is located MicroSD slot. With that easiness, it’s unnecessary to unload casing to pair SIM card and addition memory card. This phone has two cameras. The 3 megapixel camera located at device backside; but no additional lamp and mirror. There’s only available addition speaker. Above it, there is a GPS port; if need to plug in addition accessory to strengthen the GPS signal. At limited promotion, HTC figures in MapKing for its mapping and QuickGPS to update GPS data.

HP Pavilion HDX Review: Emperor Notebook

HP Pavilion HDX
A lot of notebook manufacturer calls them self as multimedia notebook, but nothing do it as extreme as HP Pavilion HDX.

Notebook concept as reliable multimedia device is not a something new, but what done by HP with Pavilion HDX can be said unique and revolutionary. Not Only its 20,1 inches screen size, but also because it fascinating design of two unique axis. First axis functions to open notebook cover, while the second axis to setting screen declivity. This is non something new, because we have seen the same thing in Dialogue Flybook VM. But Flybook VM only have 12,1 inches screen size, thus HP success do the same thing in 20,1 inches screen must be appreciated.

Moreover, Pavilion HDX also extravagances the user with lot of facility which you hard to find in other notebook. Its optical device already uses HD DVD-ROM, so you can enjoys high definition video directly in this notebook. But need to be noted that the optical device only reads HD-DVD disc, not like HD-DVD Writer applied by Toshiba Qosmio G40.

To support high definition multimedia, Pavilion HDX equipped with speaker from Altec Lansing. Not half the battle, there is four speaker plus subwoofer with Triple Bass Reflex technology to produced home theater sound quality. In left side of keyboard is available a remote controller so that you can enjoys high class entertainment from your balmy sofa.

Pavilion HDX surprises are not only in multimedia side, but also at its base function as a notebook. One of its proofs can be seen by the existence of SATA external port which residing in notebook left side. This port functioned for high-speed data traffic, much higher compared to USB 2.0 or FireWire. Pavilion HDX applied high class component, starts from Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 (2,2 GHZ) processor, 2 GB DDR2 memory, and Ati Mobility 2600XT (256 MB) graphic card. Which more special is it two harddisk (@ 160GB) and combined becomes RAID 0 (striping) to increase the speed.

But something else which we get from our test are even it have large size battery, this notebook have a short life time. Though having 7200mAh capacities, the battery only hold out for more or less one hour to play HD video which we applies as test tool. Moreover, its weight reaching 6,9 kgs, this notebook of course not for be brought to travels.

Upper review actually has not explains clearly all Pavilion HDX facilities, because there are still have fingerprint scanner, HDMI, and also touch button which we have not referred.

HP Pavilion HDX is most sophisticated notebook you can get in this time. But you maybe had known that this notebook price is not cheap. With it $2999 price, only a few people can buy it.
